LENOVO's Windows 7 Launch Display

Background / Brief

Creative Instore Solutions’ key objective for this project was to assist Lenovo get the most out of its increasing brand awareness and combine it with the timely release of Windows 7 with a visually impactful display suitable for the busy electronic store environment.  Lenovo sought to increase the return on investment that had been made to date in building such a strong young brand. To achieve this they needed to convert at the point of sale.

 

Execution

The timely launch of Windows 7 created a great opportunity to combine the two strong brands at the point of sale and have an immediate impact. The combination of brands also complimented their brand strategy selling the latest and greatest in technology. “Here is the latest hardware with the latest software ready for you to trial and buy”.

To achieve the objectives of the brief, CIS developed a modular display system that was appealing, quick and easy to install, manage and shop around, easy to clean and sturdy in design for product interaction. The units were designed to allow holding of various sized notebooks and sustain busy retail environments for up to four years.

Results

The combination of Microsoft’s launch of Windows 7 perfectly integrated with the Lenovo Display– providing relevance and effective utilisation of shop floor space.  The units exceeded expectations with demand having them placed into the market within one month of their delivery. Lenovo sales growth in these channels and, coupled with the launch of Windows 7, has seen YOY sales increases of 16%.

The display itself offers fantastic brand presence that works at complementing the marketing spend above the line and ultimately the objective of converting at the POINT OF SALE.
